After reading other reviews, I decided to purchase this toaster and I have not been disappointed. Something similar would cost twice as much at a regular department store. I love the stainless steel look and the buttons that let me choose what I am toasting.

It is a good value toaster. It does not look cheap as the other toaster that cost the same, and it works great.

we were looking for a toaster, just a plain toaster. Couldn't find one, everything has this defrost and other gadgets. The old toaster was a 850 watt and did not do the job. This B&D one is 1100 watts, I noticed that most advertisements do not tell you the wattage. This one did. We bought this, and are very pleased, it does have some of the bells and whistles, but what is a guy to do.

I have owned and gone through 5 (five!) toasters during last 10 years (different brands, different models)... they all broke down very fast, most of them just toasting on one side, unevenly, losing the ability to stay locked down, etc...
even though each model was the cheap, under-20-bucks-unit, I would think with all the planned obsolescence, the toaster should have more of a life-span than an average of two years... oh well...
This time I decided to spend a little more to get better longevity, but still was not willing to pay $50 on a simple toaster. Finally I decided for this one (Black & Decker T2707S 2-Slice Stainless-Steel Toaster) and have been quite happy with it so far.
I wanted to give it a fairly long test trial, before writing a review, and after about 5 months of daily use, I feel like I can pretty confidently express my satisfaction with the performance.
It does take little longer that I was used to in the past to toast the bread... however, both sides are still holding strong and heating up evenly, and that's all I ever asked of ANY toast. There is also the defrost option, which I appreciate and on top of that, the stainless steel design is quite attractive, and actually looks good on the counter top.
I am very happy with both the looks and the performance, would buy it again (AND hope I won't need to! :)
